Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account just to look?
No. The catalogue, the artist profiles and the music excerpts are open to everyone, without signing up. An account is only asked for when you want to set a work aside, follow an artist or bid — it's free, takes thirty seconds and requires no bank card. You then come straight back to the page you were on.
What happens when I click “Acquire”?
You buy the work at the price listed by the artist, and that click opens a 7-day window during which another buyer may outbid you. If that happens, you're notified and can take the lead again. Nothing is charged until the auction closes.
Is the account paid?
No. Creating an account to explore, follow artists and bid is free. Only artists subscribe (€11.99/month or €99.99/year), and only once their works have been approved.
How is the price I pay calculated?
Winning bid (paid to the artist) + platform commission (35 %) + insured shipping. Shipping is arranged by 18°N and its carrier according to the value and destination of the work, and its cost is confirmed to you before any payment.
How does one become an artist on 18°N?
You apply (identity + Caribbean connection + no-AI commitment). After the committee approves, you submit the minimum number of works for your category; once approved, you subscribe and your profile becomes visible worldwide.
Can I buy a musical work?
Yes — exclusive toplines, instrumentals and vocal packs. The winner receives the complete file and the rights set out on its page. Sold once only, delivered digitally, no shipping.
How can I be sure a track is complete?
The duration is measured on the uploaded file (not merely declared), a moderator listens to it in full before approval, and the verified complete file is handed to the winner.
What if the work arrives damaged?
Report the dispute within 72 hours with photographs. Funds stay in escrow, the shipping insurance is engaged and an 18°N mediator settles the matter within 14 days.
